Donovan A. Everett

Donovan brings over 25 years of experience successfully leading and delivering commercial construction projects totaling over 2 billion dollars.
In the role of president and chief executive officer, Donovan leads the overall direction of the company. He is responsible for development of the executive team, driving company strategy and tracking against its targets. Donovan plays a leading role in development and execution of the company’s growth strategy, which include identifying opportunities in the market for continuous business growth and expansion. Donovan ensures the company exercises strong fiscal management. Donovan also develops and maintains key relationships and strategic partnerships.
Donovan was born into the construction business and started leading construction projects for his father’s construction company at the age of 15. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Donovan worked for one of the largest commercial real estate developers in the region. Upon graduating college, Donovan went on to work for one of the largest national Construction Management firms, Balfour Beatty, running large commercial projects.
In 2013 at the age of 32, after 10 years at Balfour Beatty, Donovan left to start D.A. Everett Construction Group. Donovan has led D.A. Everett through tremendous growth since its inception to include amassing a portfolio that includes award-winning projects. In 2024, D.A. Everett Construction Group is forecasted to exceed well over $100M in revenue. In 2023, D.A. Everett Construction ranked #5 on the Charlotte Business Journal’s (CBJ) List of Charlotte-area Largest Black-owned Businesses, as well as landed on CBJ’s Fast 50 List, being recognized as one of the fastest growing businesses in Charlotte.
In April 2024, Donovan was selected as one of Charlotte Business Journal’s 2024 Most Admired CEOs. Donovan is recognized as a community and industry leader, as well as sought after speaker. Donovan currently serves on the Triangle board of First Bank of North Carolina and is a former board member of the NW Cary YMCA and The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. Donovan holds a B.S. in business from North Carolina State University, is a lead accredited professional, and holds a general contractors license in North Carolina, South Carolina and the US Virgin Islands.
