D.A. Everett Construction Group Awarded Carolina CORE 2023 “Project of the Year” award for their Project: Nissan of Sumter

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 9, 2023 – D.A. Everett Construction Group, a southeastern construction management and general contracting firm, participated in the Carolinas CORE Awards by CoreNet Global, and was awarded “Project of The Year 20,000–100,000 SF” for its Nissan of Sumter project. The Carolinas CORE Awards recognizes corporate real estate projects that improve employee experience and productivity, strengthen the corporate brand and real estate strategy, have a significant impact, and provide clients with a competitive advantage to attract and retain the best talent.

For this submission, Nissan of Sumter partnered with D.A. Everett to build the first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art prototype of Nissan’s 2.0 image update. The design and sustainability goals were intended to rival luxury brand dealerships. Key features of this project include a fully integrated service lounge and showroom, all-new signage, a substantially more impactful exterior presence, as well as digital assets throughout the dealership to enhance customer experience and capitalize on the latest retail thinking.

“Winning this award was an acknowledgment of what we do, day-in and day-out, and honors our contributions to the industry,” stated Donovan Everett, president of D.A. Everett Construction Group. “The Nissan of Sumter project creates an atmosphere where their employees feel inspired and can thrive, as well as elevate the car-buying experience for their customers. We are humbled to be recognized for what we do alongside the other industry leaders. I am extremely proud of the team.”

The criteria for this award category included, but were not limited to: the project’s ability to enable or enhance the business’ core business strategy and performance, support worker productivity, assist the company in attracting and retaining talent, create a competitive advantage for the company, and positively impact the bottom line of the company.

“I partnered with D.A. Everett Construction to bring a new state-of-the-art dealership facility to Sumter, South Carolina,” stated TJ Johnson, president of Johnson Automotive Group. “Our goal is to give our customers a great car buying experience, and D.A. Everett Construction allowed us to focus on our customers while they built our facilities.  D.A. Everett Construction is my only choice when it comes to a construction partner.”

Donovan Everett (president & CEO), Wendy Nixon (senior vice president), William Brown (project manager), and Trent Oxendine (superintendent), all attended the Carolinas CORE Awards ceremony on January 19th at the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte to accept this award on behalf of the D.A. Everett team.
